NDIS Resources
The National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS)
The National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) is the new Australia-wide method of providing support for eligible people with permanent and significant disabilities, their families and carers.

It is known that everyone has their own particular requirements in order to achieve a greater degree of independence and quality of life. Therefore, participants of the NDIS will be assisted in developing personalised NDIS support plans based on their needs, preferences, and aspirations.

NDIS plans are flexible, responsive and have a whole-of-life approach to support.

Therefore, the NDIS aims to support people with disability by giving participants choice and control over their social and economic participation and their types of support and their life goals.

For further information on the NDIS, please refer to our NDIS Menu items.

The NDIA
The NDIS is delivered by the National Disability Insurance Agency (NDIA).
The NDIA is responsible for:
  • Deciding whether a person can become a participant in the NDIS
  • Approving, suspending and reviewing participant NDIS plans
  • Registering organisations to become NDIS providers
  • Developing and enhancing the disability sector
  • Building community awareness of disabilities
